Ornaments again

I love stitching ornaments. They're usually an easy stitch and work up so quickly. Just what you need during the busy holiday season. The problem is finding time to finish them. I still have a couple from last year I haven't finished :-(
Here are a couple I finished stitching this week:

Silent Night by Little House Needleworks

Noel by Log Cabin Needleworks (freebie!!)

Now I need to figure out what to start next. Maybe I should start to finish them!

Grammy's Mending Box SAL finished

Well,  Here it is!  Another SAL completed.  Carol, man was there alot of over one in this design.  I hope our next one doesn't have as much.  I decided to leave the purple in.  I wasn't in love with it but it looks ok.  As you can see, I have finished the stitching only!  The assembly will have to wait until the boys are back in school.  Our next SAL is A  Petit Etui which was designed by multiple designers.  We have decided to work on this one because the fabric is 36ct and we can both see that count right now.

Me Too - Aren't vacations awesome??

I finished up a few things while I was on vacation this week. The first one was actually finished a few weeks ago, but I can't remember if any of you have seen it. It's My Scissors by Olde Colonial Designs. This was a fun and easy stitch, but of course I still have to assemble it into a finished fob.

After several weeks of no stitching I decided I 'needed' to start a small new project, since none of my WIP's were motivating me. I picked up the Pin Pokes I chart by Homespun Elegance and stitched the Sewing Bird in just a few hours. I love instant gratification!

Feeling much more motivated after that, the only thing to do was to start ANOTHER small project. This time I chose Small Token by Blackbird Designs. This one took a couple of days to finish, but I really enjoyed working on it.

So now I have 3 more projects added to my ever-growing list of things that need to be finished. Still trying to get myself going again on some of my WIPs/UFO's from my January challenge. I guess I understand why they've become UFO's. I seem to be unable to work on large projects right now. Oh well, it's supposed to be a hobby, not another chore! :-)

Pictures of stuff I have finished...........finally!

I gave Madeliene her ugly reindeer. She loved it, enough said.

I whipped up the Boating stitching for another friend Renee, an avid boater that keeps her boat on Sebago Lake, Maine. It was a quick and easy stitch, a bit boring but with the frame it really makes it pop!

The picture to the far left is my little button jar. It took about 10 minutes to make the stitching part, about 10 minutes to finish the whole thing! As for the Summer scissor fob by Lizzie Kate was a another quick stitch that I, of course haven't done the finishing yet. I decided that I would not make it into a fob because it would be huge compared the scissors that came with the kit!

Here is a pic of my chicken tablecloth. I purchased it at Celebrations 2010, and spent the Spring and early Fall working on the tablecloth. For the most part it stays in the center of my dining table with an apple cookie jar in the center!

Oops, Sorry that was meant for my other blog DUH!!!

Spring Swap and LK Finish

Wow, time flies.  It's been a while since my last post and I have tons I could share but have a very limited time to share it.  So I apologize in advance for the fly-by post.  The last swap I participated in was Lainey's Spring Easter Swap.  It was so fun receiving these goodies in the mail.  The first 2 picture is what I got from Loretta and the second photo is what I sent.

I finished up LK Spring alphabet last week and thought I would get around to ironing it but didn't so here are some not so great shots but a finish none the less.

So until next post, Happy Stitching Everyone!!

Teapot Needle Roll

I just realized that I never posted a picture of the Teapot Needle Roll by Lori Birmingham that I finished a few days after our last stitching day. This picture is actually the one from the chart. My picture didn't look nearly as good, but my needle roll does :-)

Can't wait to see everyone at Celebrations. Only 1 more week!!!!!!

Tiny Garden Scissor Fob by Shepherd's Bush

As soon as I saw this on the ABC site after Nashville I had to have it. I decided that it would be perfect stitching day project and it really was. I finished the stitching on Saturday, but still have to assemble it. Isn't the ribbon pretty?

Stitching done on Thistle Project!

Well Ladies one project down, 2 to go.  Think I will finish them before this year's Celebrations??  I'm going to try.  The directions were a little tough and I made some things up along the way.  I did lots of frogging and if you look closely there are plenty of mistakes.  But can we really classify them as mistakes or maybe just making the project our own.  I vote for the later.  Now to put them together, YIKES!!

Thistle Accessories Progress

On Sunday I finished the stitching on the second needle cushion. The colors look much nicer in person. I'm going to start on the adorable little scissor fob next, which is my favorite part of the entire project.

Paula and Denise, you could always join Nataly and me and do the scissor fob, and leave the rest until you're in the mood ;-) It sure is cute.

A finish and a New SAL

So before I could start a new SAL with Carol I had to finish the other one that we started.  The only thing left is to put it together!  What do you say Carol?  Got time for a finishing day?  This is BBD Peacock Pinkeep done in Blue Lagoon, Collard Greens and Icing.  I like the color way, it doesn't look as antique as the red and green of Carol's but I am a blue girl and when given the chance will always change things to blue.

Next up, Thistle Accessories by JDD.  Remember this one girls??  Well, Carol and I felt we couldn't justify taking more classes if we didn't finish last year's so off we go.  Our needles will really have to fly to get this and the biscornu done.  Wish us luck.  As you can see I haven't touched it since class.  I will post progress each Sunday.  Hopefully that will motivate me.  Happy Stitching!

Thistle Accessories Stitchalong

Ok, I'm ready to get started on the Thistle Accessories Stitchalong. As of January 1st the first pincushion is finished. I finished it a few days after Celebrations.

The second one was started right after I finished the first one, but I didn't like how the pattern was looking in the top section, so I pulled it out. And it's been sitting for all these months waiting for me to pick it back up.

So now I'll start working on it again, but probably not until tomorrow. I'll post an update next Sunday with my progress.

Nataly, ready to start? Denise and Paula, still plenty of time to join us!
